Sue McL's Story

Sue at 49yrs in 1996 just knew she would write her BC journey - "The Unremarkable Nipple" and from there she progressed her educational awareness for herself and others by establishing the NZ Community Development Trust web site www.breast.co.nz.

Now addicted to reading and providing Breast Health information her ambition to attend the 3rd World Conference on BC in Vancouver was achieved, and her poster contribution "Do Something Stop Breast Cancer where it starts,' featured prominently at conference and in local newspaper.

Healthy Options magazine printed this material in September 02 and it was featured in Upfront issue 44.

Sue was invited and sponsored to present her paper “Preventing Breast Cancer will….” at the 4th World  Conference on BC in Halifax, Canada in June 2005.

She enjoys guest speaking about Breast Health matters and encouraging others with breast cancer to take charge of their health. Sue also featured on the NZ documentary, 'The Naked Breast".

She trained as a radiographer and has a diploma from Waikato University. Tohu Whakamana Tangata. 

She is married to Allan, a lawyer and has 3 adult daughters.

Her interests are boating and gardening, and her two donkeys Carmen and Dulcie.
